Senior Linux System Engineer 80%-100% (Switzerland)

Tasks

• Provisioning, maintaining, configuring, and upgrading Linux server systems
• Implementing new processes and expanding existing processes in Linux system landscapes
• Providing comprehensive product and service support, solving high-priority and high-impact issues, replicating problems, and identifying root causes
• Facilitating problem-solving for Juniors and Professionals by providing guidance and developing standard procedures
• Creating comprehensive documentation, including proper diagrams and detailed user guidance, and describing concepts in a concise way
• Leading customer meetings on complex topics and establishing a constructive relationship with the customer
• Specifying complex changes, planning their implementation, and ensuring a proper risk management
• Becoming one of our internal subject matter experts for one or several technologies

Must Have Technical Skills

• You have between five and eight years of work experience as a system engineer in a Linux-centric environment.
• You have in-depth expertise using automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or SaltStack to improve existing automation and write and implement new ones.
• You understand advanced computer science principles (e.g., kernel mode vs. user mode, paging in Linux, networking protocols).
• You have at least a B2 level of English, preferably C1.

Nice to Have

• You have experience with Red Hat and/or SUSE products.
• You have experience with the following: Webservers, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, LDAP, OpenID Connect, KVM Virtualization, OpenSearch, Bash, Python, NFS, Terraform, Docker.
• You have some proficiency in German.
